What is a Poker Ride?
Lots of fun! Saddle up the horses and put on your poker face for the Glenmore Poker Ride in Staunton, Virginia. This is an “at your own pace” untimed ride through beautiful farmlands of Augusta county.
Ride for fun and win CASH! *
During the ride, you’ll pick up 5 playing cards along the course. At the finish submit your poker hand to the Casino Master and the top 6 winners will be recorded and awarded CASH prizes!
The Course:
Will be the same for all riders with jump “go around” options for non-jumpers. It is well flagged, easy to follow and approximately 6 - 8 miles in length.
Grounds Open: 10 AM, Entries: taken between 10 – 1 PM, Start Times: between 11 – 1 PM
Lunch Available: between 12 (noon) – 3:30 PM • Plan to finish ride by: 3 PM • Riders in by 3 PM qualify for awards.
Awards: The best six poker hands win CASH!*
1st place wins $50, 2nd $40, 3rd $30, 4th $20, 5th $10, 6th $5.
Requirements:
Helmets for jumping and strongly suggested for all riders.
A current negative Coggins certificate for each mount must be available for inspection per Virginia Law.
All participants must register entries, sign a liability release waiver and pay the appropriate fees.
Entries & Waivers are available online and recommended for preparation in advance of arrival. A great time saver!
Checks are payable to “Glenmore Hunt”.
For minors, both a parent or guardian, and the minor must sign the release/waiver if rider is under age 18.

N or I-81: Exit 225 W (Rt. 262), Go 1.5 mi., T Left at stoplight onto Rt. 11 S, Go 1 mi., BEAR LEFT at flashing light/fork onto Rt. 11 Bypass (Commerce Rd.), Go .7 mi. to VDOT on left, TL into VDOT driveway & BEAR RIGHT through farm gate. Parking will be behind VDOT.
